This year I have decided to make a red and white quilt. I have been wanting to for some time and when I saw this block of the month from just takes two I had to do it. It is taking some committment on my part, but I am almost caught up. These photos show the first three sets of blocks and I am hoping to finish the fourth set before the next lot go up on the 1st March
The next two photos are blocks one and two from Viv Robinson's 12 Days of Christmas BOM.
I am really enjoying these. The applique is by machine and the stitchery is mostly by hand with some machine work.
Looking good Lillian
ReplyDeleteLove the reds especially the house block. The 12 Days of Christmas blocks are very cute. Is the applique buttonhole stitch or satin/tight zigzag? I was trying machine applique last night but can't get it so I am as happy with it as I am with hand applique. Pity the time saving would be great. Tracee
ReplyDeleteThe applique is machine buttonhole. It's very neat by machine and I would prefer to do hand embroidery than buttonhole (blanket) stitch. And it's quick.
DeleteWell done, the red and white are stunning together. I love the Twelve Days of Christmas though!! So cute!!
